As we go through life, we learn—not too long in—that we fall, we fall often, sometimes falling hard. Yet we also learn that, as long as there is breath in our lungs, we have the capacity to get back up again. Call it what you will: recovery, resilience, renewal, or even redemption. The core principle remains the same: when in a bad place—perhaps a terrible place, maybe something akin to hell—you take action that contributes to your return to a better place. By acting in the world and with a little luck, you get back up again.
Here we hope to curate a kind of practical summarisation of the myriad ways to get back up again and, in doing so, give us all something to return to when we fall once more and need to remember how to rise. We write for ourselves initially but if it’s helpful to a larger audience, then so much the better!
In terms of the content, we treat knowledge as practical tools—designed to transform obstacles into affordances.
In order to achieve this we always aim ensure all our work is supported by four key pillars.
- What: The high level principles and background.
- How: How you can apply these principles to your life.
- When you should: The benefits and real-world payoff.
- When you shouldn’t: Risks, pitfalls, or when to avoid.
Thank you for reading thus far. We hope to have you join us on this journey, it would be a real privilege.
